Welcome to Bark Avenue! Please see our terms and conditions before completing your pet’s registration. These terms apply to all services including dog daycare, cat and dog boarding, and related pet care services to ensure we can provide the best care possible during their time with us.
1. Health & Vaccination Requirements
- All pets must be up-to-date on vaccinations before attending daycare or boarding.
Dogs must have:
- “5-in-1” vaccine
- Leptospirosis (within the last 12 months, administered at least 7 days before entry)
- Kennel Cough (within the last 12 months, administered at least 7 days before entry)
Cats must have:
- – “Feline 3-in-1” (Calicivirus, Rhinotracheitis, Feline Enteritis), administered within 12 months and at least 7 days prior to entry.
Proof of vaccination from your veterinarian is required. While vaccinations greatly reduce risk, they do not guarantee full protection. Consult your vet for more info.
2. Flea, Tick & Worm Control
- All pets must be on a current flea, worm, and tick control program.
- If signs of infestation are present upon arrival or during the stay, Bark Avenue will administer treatment at the owner’s expense.
3. General Health & Medical Conditions
- Pets must be in good health and free of contagious conditions within the last 21 days.
- A vet clearance is required for pets recently ill with a communicable disease.
- Owners must notify Bark Avenue of any medical or behavioural issues prior to booking.
- Veterinary costs and any special care fees incurred during the stay are the responsibility of the pet owner.
4. Daycare Bookings & Fees
- Daycare is by appointment only.
– Weekend & Monday bookings: by 12pm Friday.
– Tuesday–Friday bookings: by 12pm the day before. - In instances where bookings are not made in advance and confirmed, Bark Avenue cannot guarantee availability for daycare services.
- Spaces are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Payment is due in advance or upon pick-up.
- Prepaid daycare passes are non-refundable and non-transferable. Exception: if a pet is removed due to behavioural concerns, unused days will be refunded.
Late Pick-Up Policy
- A $25 late fee applies for Daycare pickups after 6:30pm (until 7:00pm).
- After 7:00pm, your pet will be placed in overnight boarding, and a full boarding fee will apply, in addition to the $25 late pick-up fee.
5. Boarding Bookings & Policies
- A non-refundable 20% deposit is required to confirm all bookings.
– For non-peak bookings, this deposit is held as credit if cancelled. - Payment is due at check-out.
- Charges start on the first day of booking.
– If picked up before 11am, no boarding charge applies for that day.
– After 11am, a full boarding fee applies. - Early pickups do not reduce the total fee—full booking payment is required.
Medical Attention During Stay
- Bark Avenue may consult a veterinarian and administer prescribed treatment as needed.
- The owner is responsible for all related veterinary costs, medications, and any special supplies.
- A $25 service fee will also apply to cover the cost of transportation and/or resources required to fulfill special requirements.
6. Peak Time Bookings & Surcharges
- Peak times include:
– All public holidays, school holidays, Easter
– December 20th – January 15th (Christmas & Ney Year period) - Peak time surcharge December 20th-January 15th:
– Dogs: +$5/day
– Cats: +$2.50/day - Public holiday surcharge:
– Dogs: +$5 on public holiday
– Cats: +$2.50 on public holiday - Peak time bookings require a non-refundable, non-transferable 20% deposit.
- Christmas/New Year bookings (Dec 20–Jan 15) must be for a minimum of 7 days.
- Where a pet is picked up before 11am, the peak time surcharge is still applied for that day.
7. Cancellations & Early Pickups
- Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours prior to arrival. A 10% late cancellation fee may apply.
- Peak time deposits are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Early pickups require 24 hours’ notice.
- Pets not collected within 14 days of the agreed check-out date, with no communication from the owner, will be considered abandoned. Bark Avenue reserves the right to make alternative arrangements for the pet’s care. Additional boarding fees will apply during this period.
8. Behaviour, Liability & Safety
- Owners confirm that their pets have not shown aggression toward other animals or people.
- Bark Avenue may refuse or remove pets at any time for health, safety, or behaviour concerns. In such cases, unused prepayments will be refunded.
- Owners are fully responsible for any damage, injury, or financial liability caused by their pet.
- Bark Avenue is not liable for illness, injury, death, escape, theft, fire, or damage—provided due care and attention have been exercised.
